Our trusted resources on mushroom cultivation and traditional use.

At our farm market stand, I always bring a small library of books that I love, and that have taught me a great deal about the kingdom of fungi.  I like to share some of my favourites so that customers may know where to start if they’d like to learn more!

I always say that the longer I study mushrooms, the more doors open, and the more there is to learn.  I could spend the rest of my life studying and reading about mushrooms, and still feel like I just scratched the surface!

With more than 1.5 million species of fungi (that we know of) and at least 150,000 species of mushrooms, there is a lot to know, and a lot more to learn! Mycology (the study of fungI) is perhaps the youngest of biological sciences.  We are living in a great time of collaboration and information-sharing.

Here are some of our favourite resources (check back regularly; we will add resources as we learn about them):

Engtangled Life, by Merlin Sheldrake
